Your skin is the first thing people see when they take a look at you and so it only makes sense that you’d want to make an effort to care of your skin and follow some sort of skin care regimen. Load up on antioxidant rich fruits and veggies

Your mother always made you eat your fruits and vegetables for a reason but take it a step further by choosing ones that are rich in antioxidants for the best impact on your skin. Unfortunately these are not always easy to come by in Nigeria but here are some examples of ones that you should be able to source here: oranges, red grapes, kale, spinach, broccoli, beets, blueberries, strawberries and plums. Not a fan? Try blending them into smoothie!

Quit Smoking!

The best way to slow down the appearance of ageing and wrinkling skin is to quit smoking! Smoking causes body cells oxidize more which not only increases the ageing process of the skin but also can increase the rick of cancer. Sounds like a good New Year’s resolution to add to your list!

Drink More Water!

Our bodies are 80% water so staying hydrated is key to keeping your skin supple and flawless. A glass of water in the mornings before any meal is a great way to flush toxins out of your system. Bored of water? Try infusing your water with lemon and cucumber for natural flavor.

Let Stress Go!

In this country this might seem like a lost cause – with no light, heat, accumulating bills, work and family responsibilities – no wonder we’re all stressed! But there’s always something you can do to help alleviate pressure! First identify the source of the stress, replace unhealthy coping strategies with healthy ones, priorities and make time for fun and relaxation regularly!
